The Parisot International Arts Festival promises to be quite an event!

The first Parisot International Art Festival, launched in August 2007, was a huge success. The festival attracted an exceptional group of French and international artists.

Public attendance was excellent with both local and vacationing viewers and a good number of paintings were sold by the artists.

The children’s art competition proved to be very popular and added to the festival atmosphere.

All in all the organising committee were delighted with the result of the 2007 festival.

 

A feature of the festival is the affordability of many of the works on display. The artists make a real effort to keep their prices as low as possible. Truly, art for everyone! 

 

The uniqueness of the festival is that all the works are exhibited throughout the village. Works are on display in houses, garages, shops, restaurant, gardens, court-yards and many of the open and communal spaces in the village. This creates a uniquely relaxed and charming series of venues in which to enjoy the works on show. The natural stone architecture of the village coupled with its arresting landscape provides a wonderful backdrop from where to enjoy all the works on display.  Visitors can take a break from viewing works by popping into La Castille Auberge for a meal or the boulangerie for a drink and patisserie. It is truly a whole village affair!

 

An additional event is a classical music concert. Plans are being finalised for this event which will expand the Parisot Art Festival’s breadth of artistic expression.

 

There will be a children’s art competition that runs throughout the duration of the festival. Children of all ages are provided with materials to create their very own art. Prizes in each age group are awarded at the end of the festival.

 

It has always been the organizers intention to encompass a wide variety of art forms. The concept is for the Parisot International Art Festival to develop into a unique meeting place for music and art lovers. A place for both experienced and new comers to the arts to meet, view, talk, relax and enjoy the kind of atmosphere that only a arts festival can  create.

In its first year the festival has attracted an enthusiastic audience and has also attracted media attention, with favourable coverage in newspapers and radio. We fully expect to build upon this auspicious start. In 2008 the festival was both bigger and better.

We promise that returning and new visitors will find much to see, hear, enjoy and, yes, even to buy!
