The Pirani Trio, Timothy End, Francesca Moore-Bridger and Abigail Woolley, was founded in 2006 by three Postgraduate students at the Royal Academy of Music in London, with the intention of establishing itself as a chamber music group at the forefront of the profession. The group aims not only to consolidate the standard Horn Trio repertoire, but also to encourage new compositions and to explore less well-known Trios which have been rarely performed.
The members of this ensemble all hold scholarships at the Royal Academy of Music, London. As well as winning the Academy’s Max Pirani Trio prize in 2007, they have individually won numerous other competitions including the Dennis Brain Prize, the Delius Prize, the Sir Arthur Bliss Prize and the Bache Fund Prize. They have also individually performed with a wide range of orchestras and ensembles that include the Philharmonia Orchestra, the London Sinfonietta, the London Gala Orchestra, Orchestra Europa, the Dmitri Ensemble, the London Contemporary Orchestra and the European Union Youth Orchestra.
The Pirani Trio have given recitals at a variety of venues including Colston Hall in Bristol and at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge. In October 2007 the Trio were invited to perform Berkeley’s Horn Trio at a Memorial concert for Dennis Brain given by the British Horn Society.
