Parisot International Art Festival 2011
Parisot International Art Festival 2011
Introduction
The Parisot International Art Festival was created to enable established professional artists and performers as well as those at the beginning of their artistic and performing careers to exhibit and sell their works and show case their talents to a wide audience. Unlike other arts festivals in the region, the Parisot International Art Festival attempts to present the arts, (performances), in everyday surroundings at affordable prices for visitors. As well as street events, the works of artists are exhibited in different indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the village. The costs of staging such an event are immense and of course a sound financial support does make a difference to both the development and the sustainability of the festival. The festival needs substantial support in the short and medium term so that it can be self-financing in the longer term.
Inclusive Festival
To encourage both established and up-and-coming artists to have the opportunity to exhibit, and hopefully sell, their works, the Parisot Arts Festival committee decided not to levy a fee for exhibition spaces. The offshoot of not charging artists is that all costs in staging and managing the festival have to be met by the festival committee.
Goodwill
The Parisot International Art Festival already relies on the goodwill of committee members and volunteers who give their time generously and freely in order to stage and manage the festival.
How will your support will be used?
The financial support provided will be used in two ways:
1. Financial support is required in the short-term for important general costs that needs to be covered, including
•Publicity materials - leaflets and posters
•Placing adverts in local and regional press and magazines
•Insurance to cover liabilities
•Prizes for the Children’s Art competition
•Preparing exhibition spaces
2. Secondly, in the medium-term financial support is required to provide the festival with a solid foundation from which to sustain itself in the longer term. The festival needs
•Equipment including computer, printer, photocopier
•Stationery
•Part-time administrator
•Telephone, fax machine costs
•Support for artists (accommodation and running expenses) who would like to participate but are unable to due to financial difficulties
Any support you are able to offer would be gratefully appreciated.
